Sustainability Showcase - Green Careers Forum

On Tuesday, April 20th UW-Eau Claire will host a Green Careers Forum. In light of the recent economic slowdown, many point to the emerging "Green Collar" jobs market to provide the careers of tomorrow.

Four, industry specific, guest speakers will be shedding light on the “Green Collar” jobs of the future. Speakers include:

• Rick Beckler – Director of Hospitality Service at Sacred Heart Hospital
• Tom Stolp - Western Region Coordinator for the Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters
• Ned Noel – Associate City Planner
• Bruce Barker – President of Chippewa Valley Technical College

The last 30 minutes will be devoted to questions from the audience.

"So we have a choice to make. We can remain one of the world's leading importers of foreign oil, or we can make the investments that would allow us to become the world's leading exporter of renewable energy. We can let climate change continue to go unchecked, or we can help stop it. We can let the jobs of tomorrow be created abroad, or we can create those jobs right here in America and lay the foundation for lasting prosperity."
-PRESIDENT OBAMA, MARCH 19, 2009
